Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she relocated to England when she was sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. She was a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a few years following, she launched an online voice platform with a critique of current political scenarios. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna was first noticed when she ran for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes declared her to be the "most influential female" in the media industry with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many at the time-current AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both of her parents but it was their connection that shaped her. In her early years she showed her leadership skills for which she's still known. When she was 16 years old, she moved over into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the first woman to hold the position of president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books with his guidance for editing.
